Seirin High
Seirin High's basketball team was founded only the year before the manga; despite this setbacks and only including freshmen, the team made it all the way to the final league in that year's inter-high school tournament. This year, the team's notable newcomers include Tetsuya Kuroko, the main character of the manga, as well as Taiga Kagami.
Tetsuya Kuroko (黒子 テツヤ Kuroko Tetsuya) is the main protagonist of the manga, Kuroko no Basuke. He was thePhantom Sixth Player of the Generation of Miracles. He specializes in misdirection and passes. He now plays as a regular with Seirin with the goal of bringing the team and Taiga Kagami to the top of Japan Kuroko has a very small build for a basketball player. He has light blue hair that he styles to his left. His eyes are blue, and he has a blank gaze. His skin is fairly pale. He wears the white, black and red Seirin jersey with the number 11. He also sometimes wears black sweatbands. His basketball shoesare white with a blue streak. When out of training or matches, he wears his school uniform: the standard Japanese gakuran. The top piece of a gakuran is black, long-sleeved and has a standing collar which buttons from the bottom up to his chin. It has blue trimming on the sleeves and vertically in the middle. He also wears regular black pants. It has been noted that his bedhead is especially atrocious.
Taiga Kagami (火神 大我 Kagami Taiga) is the deuteragonist of the Kuroko no Basuke series as well as the ace and power forward of Seirin High. He is Tetsuya Kuroko's basketball colleague and friend. He is determined to defeat theGeneration of Miracles and become the best in Japan.Kagami has exceptional basketball talents and has been called "The Miracle who did not become one of the Miracles".Kagami is very muscular for a high school boy. He is very tall, which gives him an overwhelming aura, which some say is like the the intensity of a wild tiger. He has dark red hair and red eyes. His eyes are also very narrow and his eyebrows are split and thick, according to Murasakibara Atsushi. He wears the red, black and white Seirin High jersey with the number 10 and wears black and red basketball shoes. He is also occasionally seen with a shiny metal necklace with a ring on it, that represents his friendship with Tatsuya Himuro. When he is seen in his school uniform, he keeps his gakuran unzipped, while wearing a white shirt underneath.
Junpei Hyūga (日向 順平 Hyūga Junpei) is Seirin's captain. He is a clutch-player and mainly excels at shooting. Hyūga's appearance is average. He has short black hair, narrow eyes and he is always seen wearing glasses. He is a second year basketball player, and is of average height and average physique.When he joined Seirin High, in his first year of high school, he looked entirely different. Back then, he had very long, slick blonde hair. He had an arrogant look on his face, as if back then his clutch personality was his normal personality. After reverting back to his former hairstyle upon joining the basketball team, it is noted that he has a longer fringe compared to his current one.
Shun Izuki (伊月 俊 Izuki Shun) is a second year at Seirin and the regular point guard. He has the Eagle Eye.Shun has straight black hair, that reaches his eyes. His eyes are narrow and resemble an eagle, hinting to his ability. His eyes are also usually shown without pupils, entirely black. He has a rather small and athletic looking body, in contrast to his teammates. He plays with the jersey number 5.His appearance hasn't changed much from last year, but in his first year in high school, his hair was shorter and parted on the right side.
Shinji Koganei (小金井 慎二 Koganei Shinji) is one of Seirin's forwards. It is said that he can do anything, yet isn't a master of anything.Koganei has normal, spiky, dark brown hair and short bangs. His most distinctive feature is his mouth that's curved like a cats. He's one of the shortest members of the Seirin team
Rinnosuke Mitobe (水戸部 凛之助 Mitobe Rinnosuke) is Seirin's center and a second year
regular.Mitobe has long black hair that is parted to the sides, but with one strand of hair between his eyes. He also has very thick eyebrows. One of his distinctive features is that he always has his mouth closed, even when playing, and never speaks. He wears the Seirin jersey with the number 8. He is also one of the taller members of the club.
Satoshi Tsuchida (土田 聡史 Tsuchida Satoshi) is Seirin High's second year power forward.Tsuchida is one of the taller and larger Seirin players. He has short, spikey black hair. He has very thick eyebrows and his eyes look like they are closed, narrowed down to thin, horizontal lines. He wears the red, black and white Seirin High jersey with the number 9.When Seirin's past was revealed, it is shown that he hasn't changed at all from last year.
"Iron Heart" Teppei Kiyoshi (木吉 鉄平 Kiyoshi Teppei) is Seirin's founder and its previous ace. He is known as Iron Heart (鉄心, Tesshin) and is one of the Uncrowned Kings.Teppei is very tall, even taller than Kagami. He has half-long, brown hair. His eyebrows are thick. He has dark eyes. His hands are also very big. This allows him to grab the ball tightly and change its course even at the last moment. He wears jersey number 7.
Kōki Furihata (降旗 光樹 Furihata Kōki) is a first year point guard at Seirin High.Furihata is one of the smaller Seirin players and has nearly the same height as Kuroko. He has light brown, half long hair. He plays with the number 12.
Hiroshi Fukuda (福田 寛 Fukuda Hiroshi) is a first yearcenter at Seirin High.Fukuda has black, spikey hair with a few strands hanging over his forehead. He has rather long eyebrows. He plays with the red, black and white jersey of Seirin, wearing the jersey number 13.
Kōichi Kawahara (河原 浩一 Kawahara Kōichi) is a first year small forward at Seirin High.Kawahara is a school boy of an average height. He has very short, black hair. He wears the red, black and white Seirin High jersey with the number 15.
Riko Aida (相田 リコ Aida Riko) is Seirin's boys' basketball club's coach. She has the ability to Scan someone and bring out every detail about that person. She is also Kagetora Aida's daughter.She has caramel coloured hair, that is not very long at first, but she decided to let it grow during the Winter Cup. Two years ago, it was long as well, but she cut it for unknown reasons. Her hair is kept to her left side with two pins and sometimes she has a pony tail kept together with a black band. Before the Winter Cup finals, Riko asked Hyūga to cut her hair again, reverting to her former short hairstyle.According to Momoi, she has a B-cup.She is always seen in her school outfit, that is a white shirt with a black sweater over it. She also wears a white, shortskirt and a sailor necktie. Because of her being the coach of the basketball team, she has a pink whistle tied around her neck with a hanger. She sometimes wears casual clothes with a bear and the word Kuma (bear) on it.
Tetsuya #2 (テツヤ二号 Tetsuya Nigō) is Tetsuya Kuroko's pet dog. He is taken care of by Kuroko and the Seirin team, and has become somewhat of the club's mascot. Kuroko also calls him #2.Tetsuya #2 is a puppy, an Alaskan Malamute. The top of his coat is black, while his tummy and legs are snow-white. He has two white spots for eyebrows. His most distinctive feature is that his eyes greatly resemble Kuroko's, they are of the same color and are oval-shaped as well. This is the reason why he is called Tetsuya #2.Tetsuya #2 also sports a Seirin No. 16 jersey.
KAIJO HIGH
- Kaijō is a National-level school that makes it to the interhigh tournament each year. Although it is the first team Seirin plays, it is not in the Tokyo district like Seirin, Shūtoku, and Shinsenkan.
Ryōta Kise (黄瀬 涼太 Kise Ryōta) was one of the Generation of Miracles who now plays at Kaijō High. He is known for his copying abilities, this means that he can copy every technique he has seen, with more power than the original.Kise also works as a model, so, naturally he has a pretty face. He has yellow, medium long hair. He has long eyelashes, a piercing in his left ear, and gold-colored eyes. Out of games, he is often seen in his school uniform, including white shirt, black tie and a gray vest and formal pants. In games, he wears the dark blue Kaijō jersey with the number 7.
Yukio Kasamatsu (笠松 幸男 Kasamatsu Yukio) is Kaijō High's third year point guard and captain. He is a good friend of Kise.Kasamatsu has short, spiky black hair. In comparison to other characters, he has large, sharp steel blue eyes, thick eyebrows and he usually looks very stern when dealing with his team and basketball. He's one of the shorter players. While playing, he wears the Kaijō uniform with the number 4, as he is the captain. He also wears high socks that cover his calves and reach his knees, this is something that no one else does, so it makes him unique and easy to spot on court. The socks support his legs and lessen the burden on his muscles.
Mitsuhiro Hayakawa (早川 充洋 Hayakawa Mitsuhiro) is Kaijō's second year power forward.Hayakawa is a wide and tall high school boy. He has short,light brown and spikey hair, also bushy eyebrows and a big mouth. He wears the blue and white Kaijō jersey with the number 10.Hayakawa loses his temper very easily. He is always fired up before, during and even after a match. His enthusiasm often irritates his fellow players and even his opponents. His over-enthusiasm resembles Kasamatsu's attitude.He also has a serious speaking problem (pronouncing an L instead of an R and vice versa), that gets worse when losing his temper. This makes him difficult to understand.
Yoshitaka Moriyama (森山 由孝 Moriyama Yoshitaka) is Kaijō's shooting guard. Moriyama has short black hair with a green tint that he parts to the right. His eyes are very narrow and he is of average built. He wears the blue and white Kaijō jersey with the number 5.Moriyama is a ladies-man. He constantly looks out for cute girls and plays for their sake. That said, he can be silly at times, but is focused and reliable when he needs to be.
Kōji Kobori (小堀 浩志 Kobori Kōji) is a 3rd year center at Kaijō High.Kobori is a tall and muscular third-year. He has spikey, black hair that is styled in an abstract mohawk. He plays with the number 8.Kobori is rather calm and prefers to stay out of the spotlight and out of trouble. He is focused and passionate.
Shūtoku High
Shintarō Midorima (緑間 真太郎 Midorima Shintarō) was the vice-captain and shooter of the Generation of Miracles. He now plays with one of the Three Kings of Tokyo, Shūtoku High.Midorima has short, dark green hair that doesn't reach his eyes. His hair is parted to the left. He is quite big and tall, being the second-tallest from the Generation of Miracles. He has light green eyes and he wears black-framed glasses that are framed on all sides except the top. He bandages his left hand outside of matches, so that nothing can influence his left-hand shot. He also files his nails for the same reason. Midorima is often seen with a lucky item, that varies from a stuffed frog to a bear to a potted cactus. Out of games, he wears his school uniform: a black jacket that is strapped all the way to his neck and black pants. He plays with jersey number 6 at Shūtoku.
Kazunari Takao (高尾 和成 Takao Kazunari) is Shūtoku High's point guard. He is Kuroko's natural enemy, as he has the Hawk Eye and is able to see Kuroko even if he uses his misdirection.Takao has long, straight black hair. In front, his hair is kept stroked backwards, with occasionally a few hairs falling down to his eyes. As seen during the training camp, he sometimes keeps his hair out of his eyes by using a hair band. His eyes are also very narrow, and are a silvery blue in color, though in some colored pages of the manga and in the PSP game, his eyes are colored orange. Sometimes, he is seen with a wide smirk on his face. In game, he wears the number 10.
Taisuke Ōtsubo (大坪 泰介 Ōtsubo Taisuke) is Shūtoku High's center and captain.Ōtsubo is known for being very tall and especially large. His hair is black and stands upwards. He has thick eyebrows anddark eyes. He wears the white, orange and black Shūtoku jersey with the number 4.
Kiyoshi Miyaji (宮地 清志 Miyaji Kiyoshi) is a third-year regular at Shūtoku High.Miyaji is a basketball player with a rather slim and tall stature, compared to the other players. He has slightly long, blond hair that is parted in the middle.Miyaji is a very strict and harsh upperclassman. He has a temper, usually triggered by Midorima's vagaries. He is not only strict with others, but even more so towards himself. He has goals as a basketball player and lives up to those through hard work.Miyaji's anger issues gave him a scary reputation in the eyes of the freshmen. Every time someone gets on his nerves (usually Midorima) his most popular catchphrase is "Someone get me a pineapple/durian."(implying that he wants to throw it at their head).Miyaji applies a ruthlessly strict training system to his team, which is so harsh that Takao mentioned that Miyaji is without a doubt the scariest upperclassman.
Shinsuke Kimura (木村 信介 Kimura Shinsuke) is a third-year regular at Shūtoku High.Kimura has chiseled facial features, with a wide chin and exposed cheekbones. He has fat nose and big ears. His hair is shaven short and is black. He has little eyes and wears the number 5 jersey.Kimura entered the Shūtoku basketball team in the second string and only got in with the regulars in his second year of high school. After working harder than anyone else, he made it to the starting members of the team. He shares this history with Miyaji.
